The Leeds University Rocketry Association (LURA) is looking for LUBS students to fill essential operational roles. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in gaining real-world experience in finance, marketing, logistics, or HR, while working alongside a talented team focused on innovative rocketry projects.

LURA is not just for engineers—students from all backgrounds can contribute to the success of ambitious projects like the Gryphon II Rocket, which aims to break the UK Student Altitude Record, and the Louie Liquid Rocket Engine, a research and development project for liquid engine design.

Available Roles

  • Finance: Assist in preparing budgets, managing financial operations, and tracking expenses. You’ll help ensure that projects stay on track financially and learn valuable skills in financial reporting.
  • Marketing: Collaborate with the technical team to manage LURA’s social media presence and engage with external partners. This role involves developing and promoting LURA’s initiatives to the wider community.
  • Logistics: Coordinate event planning, transportation, and purchasing. This role supports key events like International Rocketry Week and other competitions, ensuring smooth operations.
  • HR: Manage recruitment, handle team engagement, and ensure a positive team environment. You’ll also be involved in resolving conflicts and overseeing team dynamics.
