LUBS Employability Bootcamp 2025

Your degree is just the beginning of your journey – employers want more than just academic excellence. They’re looking for candidates with the skills, confidence, and attitude to succeed in the workplace. That’s why we offer a range of additional training to help you stand out and achieve your career goals.

Day 1: Be The Recruiter

Job interviews can be a daunting prospect and knowing how to prepare can be tough. There's no better way to learn than to do, so let's turn the tables and make you the recruiter for the day!

In this fully interactive learning activity, you will oversee running a simulated recruitment from start to finish - from writing a job advert through to selecting the best candidates at interview.

Date: Wednesday 12 February 2025
Time: 12:00 to 18:00
Room: Clarendon Building, 2.01

What you will gain

We know that students can lack confidence about what happens during the recruitment process - we aim to change that.

Day 2: The LUBS Sustainability Challenge

We know that commercial awareness, managing resources, project management and task management are skills in high demand with employers. So let's help you to add them to your list!

This event is an immersive development day designed to develop your skills and knowledge in these areas, all themed around sustainability and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Date: Wednesday 26 February 2025
Time: 12:00 to 18:00
Room: Newlyn Building, GR.01

What you will gain

Employers want candidates with experience, but it is difficult to get a job without experience. It's a frustrating loop! Break free from it by getting practical experience to show your knowledge of business theory is backed up by the ability to do.
