Vera Trappmann - Project Lead
Vera is Professor of Work and Comparative Employment Relations and Director of Sustainability at Leeds University Business School. Vera leads the Blueprint programme at the Business School that commits LUBS to integrate sustainability into teaching, research and its own organisational practices. LUBS has committed to become net zero by 2030.
The development of CAT is part of this Blueprint programme. In Vera’s research, she is looking at the impact of climate change on work, currently leading a project on Just Transition, comparing 12 countries. Vera is also interested in worker voice, part of a team that has established the Leeds Index of Platform Labour Protest.
Jefim Vogel - Course Author
Jefim is a PhD researcher in climate mitigation, sustainability and ecological economics at the Sustainability Research Institute at the University of Leeds, with a background in climate dynamics (BSc, MSc).
His interdisciplinary research, as part of the Living Well Within Limits project, explores socio-technical and political-economic aspects of climate mitigation, with a focus on the socio-economic requirements of reconciling low energy use and human well-being.
Jefim is also a passionate lecturer, public educator and science communicator, an advisor on the UK Climate and Ecology Bill, and a co-founder of the climate and social justice community group Our Future Leeds.
Sally Chan - Branding and Implementation
Sally is Lecturer in Marketing at Leeds University Business School and a Certified Carbon Literacy Trainer at the Carbon Literacy Project. She is also University Staff Sustainability Architect and member of the Sustainability Blueprint Team committed to realising the Faculty’s Net Zero 2030 goals.
Keen to embed sustainability in all aspects of her teaching, Sally devised the Water Bottle Brief for advertising students to support the University’s #2023PlasticFree campaign which won a national award for the Best Campaign Supporting Sustainability. Some of her achievements include the management and delivery of Carbon Literacy Training in 2021/22; organisation of LUBS’ first sustainability conference; and the management of LUBS’ Student Sustainability Architects.
