Abandoned Water Bottle Campaign

Ever left your water bottle somewhere? You’d be shocked by how many bottles are lost on campus and are never claimed. A new student-led campaign is here to reunite you with your lost bottles, save you money, and keep our campus green!

The Winning Design

The posters were put before a panel of judges including industry professional Eve Byram from Emperor marketing agency, and Dr Jennifer Rodley, who started the initial scheme and gave the brief to the students.
MA student Alex Hvass was chosen as the winner.
The Winning Design by Alex Hvass. The poster depicts an anthropomorphised water bottle which looks sad and lonely. The text reads 'Forgetting Something?'

Alex's Creative Concept:

To use an animated image of a reusable bottle left in the corner of a desk; anthropomorphising it to appear lonely, thus tapping into the emotional attachment reusable bottle owners have with their bottles.

The environmental benefits of having a reusable water bottle are defeated if people don’t reuse them. The copy is a way to inform people that forgetting their water bottles could have a worse impact on the environment than purchasing plastic ones.
