Who to contact for disability support
LUBS Student Support
LUBS School Disability Contact Sam Osiewalski can offer you guidance on who to contact and what to access, as well as offer school-level support.
The University Disability Services Team
This team supports disabled students university-wide and recommends adjustments to learning, teaching and assessment.
What LUBS Student Support can help you with
- Mitigating Circumstances and Additional Considerations applications
- Signposting to relevant support teams in the university, including disability services and the counselling and wellbeing hub
- Assessment enquiries including offering ad hoc temporary adjustments to assessments
- Communicating disabled students’ needs to teaching staff including making sure that adjustments recommended by Disability Services are put in place
- Guidance on what support you can access through your Support Summary Sheet
- Taking temporary and permanent leave from your studies
- Guidance on alternative assessments and formats on the grounds of disability / health

What University Disability Services can help with
- Support with registering with disability services and accessing support including adjustments
- Accessing funding including Disabled Student Allowance and diagnosis funding
- Enquiring about assistive technology and one to one support, such as specialist mentors or study skills tutors
- Changing current adjustments accessed through the service
