LUBS Graduation Guide

The July 2026 graduation day is fast approaching! It's an exciting time, and we can't wait to celebrate the successes of our wonderful LUBS students. We also know that with so much going on, it can be easy to become confused about where to go and when. To help make your special day easier to navigate, we have compiled this list of useful information, links, and contacts.

When is graduation?

The LUBS summer 2026 graduations are being held on Tuesday 21 July.

There are four Graduation ceremonies running throughout the day. You can view a full list of the LUBS schedule and check the ceremony time for each programme on the University Graduation schedule page. 

LUBS Graduation Receptions

Each graduation ceremony has an accompanying LUBS Graduation Reception to celebrate the success of our students. your Reception will be held in the LUU Refectory and is a chance to have a final and fun-filled gathering with the students and teaching staff from your programme - make sure you attend the right one, so you don't miss out on the group photograph and prizes!

Locations - where do I go?

There are three main places for graduation activity across campus; the Parkinson Building, the Great Hall and the Refectory. Below you can read about what is happening at each of them.

As well as prize givings and refreshments, your Reception is also a chance to get one last group photo!

If you are graduating this year and would like to contribute any pictures taken during your time at University, please share them with us.

Please send images to [email protected] and include:

  • your name
  • course
  • A short description of the pictures

Please note: Everyone featured in the pictures must have given their consent for them to be shared in public.

What to bring on the day

It's a good idea to plan ahead and make sure you have everything you will need to carry with you for graduation day.

Use this checklist to help you get started:

  • Photo identification: such as your student ID card
  • Graduation tickets
  • Comfy winter shoes: to change into after the ceremony
  • Camera or phone: for capturing those special moments
  • Access to booking or ticket confirmations: received via email
  • Reusable water bottle: to stay hydrated
  • Umbrella: because you never know what the British weather will do!

Graduation photo booth

The Alumni Relations Team is sponsoring a photo booth at the LUBS Graduation Receptions (at the Refectory - see the information above. Grab some props and get creative!

We will post the photos on our official LUBS Flickr account, usually after the Christmas break.

Photography

On graduation day photography and video recording will be taking place across campus for use by the University for marketing and publicity, in our publications, on our website, in social media, or in any third party publication.

If you do not wish to be photographed then please make yourself known to the event organiser on the day.

LUU Building facilities

Once you are in the Refectory and LUU building, there are a number of useful facilities you can access, including quiet spaces, accessible toilets and public bars.

Quiet Spaces

If for any reason you need a break from the noise and commotion of the day, there is a reflection space located on Level 1, next to the Executive office.

Accessible Toilets and baby change

There are accessible toilets on Level -1, the ground floor and Level 2, with lift access between each floor and baby changing facilities on level 2.

Drinks and food

The Terrace is on the ground floor and has two entrances, one of which has accessible access.

LUU also has the Old Bar traditional pub. Both options will be open past 16:00, perfect for those whose graduation ceremony is a little later in the day.
