The Climate Action Training is currently offered to all Leeds University Business School students, free of charge.

Course overview

The Climate Action Training is delivered in a self-directed e-Learning format, which means that you can complete the course at your own pace.

There are 5 modules to complete, with quizzes at the end to test your understanding:

  • Module 1 - The climate emergency: why we must act
  • Module 2 - Understanding the issue: drivers, responsibilities, inequality, and systemic issues
  • Module 3 - Climate change mitigation: a whole-system perspective
  • Module 4 - Climate change mitigating measures in key sectors
  • Module 5 - Navigating obstacles and barriers to climate mitigation
  • Module 6 - Making change happen

Certificate of completion

Upon completion of the course, you will receive a digital Certificate of Completion from Leeds University Business School. This certificate is a recognition of the knowledge and skills gained from the course.

Discounts in Leeds shops

The CAT Team is negotiating with local green businesses to ensure that by completing the Climate Action Training you will also be eligible for reduced prices in participating shops. Further Information

  • CAT is designed with flexibility in mind so that the training will not interfere with our very full and busy lives and as such, learners complete the training in their own time
  • To be eligible for the certificate of completion, learners must score an average of 70% on the 5 quizzes
  • There is no limit on the number of attempts for each quiz. However, for those who score below 70%, we encourage learners to have another go at the quizzes to ensure their average grade is 70%.
  • Learners may take as long as they need to complete the training and the quizzes
  • As a guide, learners might take up to 4-8 weeks to complete all five modules.
  • Students who have signed up to do the course over the summer but have graduated by July should provide an alternative email address so that their certificates may be forwarded to them.
