During your first weeks at university before teaching begins, your activities will be shown on a special Welcome timetable.
After teaching begins on 29 September, you will then use your learning timetable - see below for information on how to access that.

Understanding your timetables
When you first arrive at Leeds, you will use a special temporary timetable that covers the Welcome period - all the activities designed to help you settle in, meet new people, and learn about your new course. Once teaching starts, you will then use your learning timetable for the rest of your time with us.

Your learning timetable
Your learning timetable contains information about the module and programme level teaching and activities you should attend throughout the year, and is seperate from the temporary Welcome timetable you will use for your first week.

Reading this Welcome Pack
There are nine sections to the Welcome Pack. We recommend you read them in order, but you can move between sections using the buttons at the bottom of each section or the navigation menu - located on the left side of the screen, if you are using a computer.
On a phone or tablet the section menu can be found just above the page title:
Understanding the language of university life
Every large organisation has a lot of strange words and acronyms which it uses to describe its daily workings - including universities! To help you get started, the Skills@library Team have made a guide which explains all the terms, processes, and phrases that students often say feel unfamiliar or unclear when they first arrive at university.

Finding your way around LUBS
The University of Leeds is a big place, and it can be confusing for new students to find their way around. The Business school has several different buildings across campus, including our main home at the beautiful and historic Maurice Keyworth Building.

LUBS Room Numbers
New students can sometimes find the numbering for University rooms confusing. It is easy to find your way when you remember they are split into three parts:
Room type: This will be an abbreviation, such as SR (seminar room) or LT (lecture theatre).
Floor level: This number tells you whether the room can be found on the lowest level of a building (G for ground), or whether you will need to take the stairs or lift to the first floor, or above (1,2,3 etc.).
Room number: once you are on the correct floor, the doors will be numbered in sequence - follow them until you find the room number you are looking for!
