Academic Integrity
Academic integrity means committing to honest study practices and shared values, ensuring your work reflects your own understanding and ideas, and giving credit to others where their work has contributed to yours. Meeting academic integrity standards is essential to your time at the University of Leeds - this page will introduce you to the resources available to you.
The Leeds Academic Integrity test
In the first few weeks of teaching, all new students are required to complete our Academic Integrity test. The test will help you to understand the values and academic behaviour required of our students when completing your assessments.
It is important that you understand the different ways that work can fail to meet academic integrity standards, how serious it is and how the University deals with cases. The For Students website has a full list of all Academic Integrity issues and the penalty they can incur.
Taking the tutorial and test
The Academic Tutorial tutorial and test is completed through Minerva - the virtual learning environment at the University of Leeds.
You can learn about how to access and complete the test on the Digital Education Systems Student Guide to Academic Integrity.
Help to develop your academic skills
The Skills@library resource, created by the University of Leeds Library Service, contains very useful guidance on all aspects of academic skills - including a section on Academic Integrity.
Within the confines of the lecture hall, no other virtue exists but plain intellectual integrity.
