Sustainability at LUBS

At the Business School we are committed to putting sustainability at the centre of everything we do. As students, your knowledge and energy is essential to our mission to find solutions to global challenges and make our School greener and more sustainable.

Sustainability for employability

Whether you have strong opinions on climate change and sustainability or haven’t given it much thought, it's time to recognise its growing impact on your future. Sustainability and career success are no longer separate paths. Companies increasingly seek graduates who can innovate and lead in ways that ensure long-term success while meeting the growing consumer demand for responsible business practices.

At LUBS, we pride ourselves on equipping our students with not just the skills for success, but the insight to drive positive change. Our programmes are designed to prepare you for the future—arming you with the knowledge and practical experience to thrive in your career while making a meaningful impact on the global community

We’re not about sustainability because it’s a gimmick or because it looks good or even because it’s a good way of fundraising. We’re about sustainability because it is the smartest, most effective, most profitable business strategy

Amy Jadesimi, managing director of LADOL

Develop your Knowledge: Climate Action Training

Experts in sustainable business practice from LUBS have partnered with world-leading academics from across the University to create a detailed e-learning module called Climate Action Training (CAT).

This module is offered free to all Business school students. You can undertake the learning in your own time, and emerge with an excellent knowledge of the climate crisis affecting our world and positive ways we can move forward.

Watch the video below to learn more about the training and the benefits of completing it:

Get involved

We are ambitious and determined in our plans, but we can't do this alone - we need your help and talent to achieve our sustainability goals. Luckily, there are lots of ways you can get involved with sustainability activity here at LUBS.

The perfect place to start would be to sign up for the Climate Action Training.

Throughout the year we will promote lots of opportunities via email and here on the Student Guide. This includes events such as our annual Sustainability Business Challenge, which offers teams of students the chance to partner with large successful companies and gain valuable real-world experience.

You could also consider applying to become a Student Sustainability Architect and have the chance to work with a member of academic staff to project manage a sustainability initiatve at LUBS. Positions will be advertised in the new year, so keep checking your inbox and the news section of the Student Guide.

Share your ideas!

If you have an idea for a student sustainability-related project and want help with promotion or making connections across the Uni to bring it to life, don't hesitate to contact Mark Hackney, Student Communications Officer, at m.hackney@leeds.ac.uk
