Applying for a Summer School
Summer Schools are a great way to gain academic experience in another country. They allow you to study subjects you wouldn't be able to take as part of your Leeds degree. Whilst participation in a summer school placement won't count towards your degree classification, it will be listed on your Higher Education Achievement Record (HEAR).
Where can I go?
The University of Leeds has partner universities in Europe, Australia, North America, Latin America, South Africa and the Middle East, many of whom offer summer schools for undergraduates.
There are some subsidies and scholarships, such as the LUBS Summer School Bursary, available. You are eligible to apply for this if you are an undergraduate student who has accepted a summer school placement with one of our partners.
How do I apply?
Important areas to research before applying, guidance on completing your application, and a link to the online application form can all be found on the ‘Apply for a Summer School’ page of the Global Opportunities SharePoint Site.
Applications opened on Monday 4th December 2023 and will close at 11.59pm on Tuesday 30th April 2024.
Who is eligible?
- Be a degree-seeking undergraduate student.
- Have achieved a minimum average of 50 in your previous academic year at the University of Leeds (this does not apply to first-year students).
- Be available for the full duration of your summer school placement.
