Nurturing Talent Mentoring Scheme

The Nurturing Talent Mentor Scheme (NTMS) is a full-year career mentoring programme that matches LUBS students with professionals in a range of business-related industries. Mentors can provide guidance to help you achieve your career goals.

Why should I apply for the NTMS?

As a mentee on NTMS, you can tap into your mentor’s experience to receive tailored advice and gain valuable insights into your sector of interest. You can also expand your professional network, develop key employability skills and gain confidence as you plan your career path.

We have recruited over 100 mentors from a range of companies, including PwC, KPMG, RSM, Sky, HSBC and Santander. Our mentors have a wide range of roles such as chartered accountants, investment bankers, management consultants and many more!

How do I apply?

To apply, you will need to submit an online application form. To find out more about the scheme, please visit this page. Applications for the 2024/25 scheme have now closed.

If successful you will be matched with a mentor and the mentoring relationship will last throughout the academic year. Please be aware that this is a popular programme and places are limited.

The most valuable benefit of this scheme and my mentor’s support was a massive jump in confidence and awareness of what my current capabilities and skills are – I used to avoid public speaking in the past, but today I am more confident in entering a room, speaking my voice, and presenting in front of full lecture theatres.
